Tim is Director of Wilding.  He is a Chartered Ecologist (CEcol) and he co-founded the Responsible Body business unit, leading the function as well as wider restoration and nature recovery work. Tim’s main area of expertise is in landscape-scale restoration and planning for biodiversity net gain; complemented more recently with experience in green finance, national policy developments, organisational change and governance, and managing teams and partnerships.

Tim has spent twenty-five years in the nature conservation and restoration sector and developed an ecology-focused team and set up of the Office for Environmental Protection (England and Northern Ireland environmental watchdog). Prior to that Tim was CEO of two Wildlife Trusts. He is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM) as Co-Convenor of the Ecological Restoration Specialist Interest Group SIG and a member of the Audit Risk and Investment Committee. He is also the lead author on CIEEM’s Rebuilding Nature guidance for large-scale restoration and nature recovery, and a board member of the Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) International’s large-scale ecosystem restoration section.

Phoebe is a Chartered Ecologist (CEcol) and Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and has been working in nature conservation for over 25 years.  She joined the RSK Wilding team in August 2024, moving from Nature Positive and is now lead for the Responsible Body Ecology team. Prior to that Phoebe had spent 15 years working as the Chief ecologist for a development company converting former mineral extraction sites into nature-rich sustainable developments and restoring, creating and managing a range of habitats. During this time Phoebe also became an accredited Building with Nature assessor.

Phoebe is a committee member of the CIEEM Ecological Restoration Specialist Interest Group and a member of the editorial board for CIEEM’s In Practice magazine. She served as a Trustee of The Mammal Society and chaired their Surveys Committee for a number of years. She has also been a volunteer member of the UK Overseas Territories Conservation Forum, Europe Territories Working Group and most recently has been on the faculty of the European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability’s Biodiversity and Business Executive program.

Nick is an Associate Director with RSK, working across both the Wilding and Biocensus teams. He has spent more than 17 years working in ecological consultancy and has a particular interest in the ecology and conservation of birds and mammals. He is passionate about seeing biodiversity restored within our degraded landscapes and is currently helping some of our most important clients develop their biodiversity offsetting strategies.

Ed was born in Cumbria, where his family has long been involved in rural land management and agriculture. Growing up among the lakes, fells, and working farmland, he developed a lifelong passion for the natural environment and the landscapes that shaped his early years. Building on this foundation, Ed pursued a career in countryside management, gaining extensive expertise in woodland care, arboriculture, forestry, habitat conservation and agricultural land management.

For 26 years, he managed estates and their teams for the National Trust, leading on forestry, estate operations, and landscape stewardship across a range of nationally significant sites. Since leaving the Trust, Ed has applied his skills to major landscape projects, including large-scale highway and rail infrastructure schemes, where he combines practical land knowledge with strategic environmental management. His professional career reflects a deep commitment to sustainable land use and the long-term care of rural and working landscapes.

Matt works at the intersection of nature recovery, natural capital and green finance, focussing on how nature-based solutions and rewilding can help clients unlock land value, respond to a changing climate and navigate national and local policy with confidence.

As Executive Director at Derbyshire Wildlife Trust he led 60 people delivering nature recovery across the county and led the development of a Trent catchment scale programme, developing habitat banks, ecosystem recovery programmes and building the Trust’s ecological consultancy services.  At the Moors for the Future Partnership, he developed techniques to restore blanket bog at scale, delivering nature-based solutions including improving water quality and reducing flood risk for water company and Environment Agency partners, whilst locking in significant carbon benefits.

He is a full member of CIEEM (the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management), a District Councillor for Derbyshire Dales and member of the Peak District National Park Authority.

Mark is a Chartered ecologist (CEcol) with a particular specialism in habitat survey and assessment and started his career undertaking phase 1 survey for CCW – which was a horribly long time ago!!  Mark’s focus at the moment is solar farms ensuring that the design is biodiversity led and that they deliver demonstrable benefits to biodiversity as well as helping achieve our national carbon reduction targets.  Being an ecologist of a certain age Mark now only works 4 days a week – assisting the National Trust locally with a nature recovery project on the beautiful Cotswolds escarpment in Stroud.

Simon joined RSK Wilding in May 2026 and is a biologist by training. He is driven to enable biodiversity protection and restoration across the UK and globally – and he’s become very interested in people. Ultimately, the future depends on the actions of people and the choices they make in both their personal and professional lives. It’s people that cause the pressures on nature and it’s people that can create, support, finance and enact the solutions. That’s why engagement and dialogue are so important and Simon can facilitate a better understanding of and better outcomes for people and nature.

Previously, Simon was Head of Public Engagement at Bristol Zoological Society, leading all aspects of learning and engagement. While there he developed and led Masters degree modules on the social psychology of behaviour change; essentially using communication as a conservation tool. During his time at Nature Positive, he worked with businesses, financial institutions, local authorities, retailers and sports clubs, helping them to explore their impacts and dependencies on nature, and then to decide what to do about it.

Elizabeth moved to RSK Wilding in 2023 after a short stint in RSK Biocensus in the aquatic team. Before venturing into the world of consultancy Elizabeth had a varied career working for statutory agencies, national parks and a charity. Her specialist interest is in freshwater ecology and in particular river restoration coupled with landowner engagement and landscape scale projects. Elizabeth is keen to work with landowners and clients on complex, large-scale, long-term projects to deliver positive outcomes for biodiversity.  Elizabeth is a full member of CIEEM and current co-convenor of the freshwater Special Interest Group.

Porscha is a Principal Consultant with ten years experience in the ecology sector, and joined RSK Wilding in March 2021. She predominantly undertakes BNG assessments and UKHab surveys, valuing habitats before and after development/habitat management to establish BNG using the Defra Metric, whilst also exploring other natural capital benefits. She produces a range of reports tailored to client needs, ranging from initial BNG feasibility studies, rewilding strategies and BNG assessments. She is passionate about working with developers and landowners to offset biodiversity impacts through habitat creation and restoration to help leave a lasting legacy for UK biodiversity, the environment and the climate.

Kathryn is a Principal Consultant with RSK Wilding. She is keen to support our clients in habitat restoration and design approaches that maximise wider natural capital benefits. Kathryn has a particular passion for the monitoring of habitat interventions and is excited by the opportunities biodiversity net gain and rewilding offer to improve our understanding of effective interventions and the benefits that can be achieved for our native wildlife.

Rich has been an ecologist for over 8 years and joined the RSK Wilding team in 2021, sharing the team’s enthusiasm for nature and wanting to influence positive change in the current biodiversity crisis. He spends his time undertaking habitat surveys and providing advice to landowners and business on how to maximise biodiversity on their land through habitat intervention. He has a background in Entomology which influences his recommendations, by considering microhabitat provision as a means of improving opportunities for species diversity.

James joined the RSK Wilding team in June 2026 as Principal Ecological Consultant, bringing more than 15 years’ experience in applied ecology research, biodiversity conservation and habitat restoration practice. After completing his PhD in 2007, he spent over a decade in academia, researching key questions in the sphere of biodiversity conservation and climate mitigation. As a Lecturer in Ecology and Conservation at the University of East Anglia, his research generated a range of practical evidence to support land managers and restoration practitioners in the UK and beyond. Seeking opportunities for greater on-the-ground impact, James left academia in 2023 to join Rainforest Builder as Chief Scientist. There, he oversaw the design, implementation and monitoring of large-scale reforestation projects across West Africa, developing novel approaches to re-establish diverse native forests on highly degraded lands. James is passionate about using his expertise to support rigorous, evidence-based initiatives to restore and repair the natural world.

Jackie joined the RSK Wilding team in October 2024. She has 13 years’ experience in project management, account management and operations across a range of different sectors. She is passionate about bringing this experience to rewilding and supporting biodiversity restoration across the UK.

Eve is a Senior ecologist with 6 years of experience in ecological consultancy who joined the Wilding team in July 2024.  Her experience is primarily in undertaking Biodiversity Net Gain assessments for development projects and producing a range of ecological reports including BNG reports and ecological management plans. She has a particular interest in helping clients to develop deliverable net gain outcomes which provide the best long-term outcomes for nature and the environment.

Calum is a Senior ecological consultant with over five years’ experience, with a past-life as a secondary science teacher. He joined the Wilding team in July 2024, having worked on water, energy, railway and highways projects at other consultancies. His specialisms primarily involve habitat bank feasibility studies, habitat classifications and botany (FISC 4), as well as Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), geospatial information systems (GIS) and African field studies, having conducted research in Kenya during his MSc. He is a full member of CIEEM, an external lecturer at the University of Leeds, and participates in botanical education outreach and recording activities in his spare time.

Alexa joined RSK Wilding in January 2025 having moved over from natural capital specialists Environment Bank. She is a member of the College of Experts at the Office for Enviromental Protection and recognised in the ENDS Report Power List as one of the most impactful environmental lawyers of 2023. As a lawyer with over 16 years’ experience working on land, planning, environmental and green finance projects, Alexa helps to inform policy developments in natural capital regulation, and designs legal contracts, leases and conservation covenants that maximise natural capital value through novel and enduring financial, legal and governance mechanisms.

Natalie is a solicitor with 13 years legal experience. She has a varied legal background ranging from Wills and Probate to Child Protection, and previously specialised in litigation and advocacy. She has a particular love of legal research.

Natalie joined our team as our Legal Adviser in May 2023 to transfer to Environmental Law and Planning, with an interest in the exciting progression of law relating to conservation and Biodiversity Net Gain, and evolution of Natural Capital Systems in the UK. She wishes to use her legal career to do something good for the environment and assist the Wilding team to use all the opportunities that the new and evolving legislation in the UK will create.

William is a solicitor with 8 years legal experience. He has a varied legal background ranging from Litigation to Financial Remedy matters.

William joined our team as a Legal Adviser in June 2024 to move into the field of Environmental Law and Planning, with an interest in the  progression of law relating to conservation and in particular Biodiversity Net Gain, and evolution of Natural Capital Systems in the UK. He is very keen to explore a new area of law with and has, throughout his career always enjoyed the opportunity to expand his knowledge.

Outside of work, he is also a trustee for a Law Centre Charity aimed at helping members of the public with housing issues.

Rhiannon joined the team in May 2026 as a Legal Assistant. After graduating from the University of Sheffield with a First-Class degree in Biology, she developed an interest in environmental law and policy and decided to pursue a career combining her scientific and legal interests. She went on to complete a postgraduate law conversion and solicitor training course at Nottingham Law School, volunteering with the University’s Legal Advice Centre throughout her studies. Rhiannon now supports the Responsible Body’s legal team with due diligence, conservation covenant drafting, and the day-to-day legal support needed to help deliver the team’s objectives.

Alastair joined the RSK Wilding team in 2026 following more than a decade managing habitat creation and restoration projects, Environmental Land Management agreements and biodiversity gain schemes across Local Authorities, NGO’s and the private sector. With project experience across varied habitats and ecosystems in the UK and North America, Alastair’s background in environmental science and practical land management underpins his current focus on habitat enhancement projects which blend strategic project management with operational oversight, ensuring that environmental outcomes are both ambitious and achievable on the ground.

Liam is an Ecologist at RSK Wilding having joined after several years of biodiversity research across different disciplines and countries. His focus in on mapping and estimating biodiversity units across different local authorities to underpin BNG for improvement of biodiversity across the UK. He has a keen interest in developing and deploying innovative methods for biodiversity monitoring.

Emma joined the Wilding team in June 2025. She is an Ecology Project Manager following a recent graduation with a first-class degree in Biology. Having worked previously as a microbiologist and as an advisor on navigating academic policy, she now assists across all areas of operation. Emma plays a key role in project coordination – assisting with scheduling, data management, client liaison, and ensuring smooth delivery of projects.

Emma joined the RSK Wilding team in May 2026 as a Project Coordinator. She recently graduated with a degree in Accounting and Management from Lancaster University, completing multiple ESG focused modules. Her role in the Wilding Responsible Body involves providing support for the day to day running of projects, including maintaining project plans, tracking and monitoring projects, and client communications.

Becky joined the team in July 2026 as a Habitats and Ecosystem Analyst in the Responsible Body team. Prior to joining RSK Wilding, her previous experience was in Natural Capital assurance, conducting field and desk-based assessments on woodland creation and peatland restoration projects against UK voluntary carbon standards. She holds an MSc in Wildlife and Conservation Management and has an interest in habitat creation and restoration, and the facilitation of this through ecosystem service markets. Alongside work, she often takes on volunteering projects focused on habitat restoration and surveying and is an aspiring botanist.
