Habitat Management and Monitoring Plans

The Habitat Management and Monitoring Plan (HMMP) is the key document that are appended to the Conservation Covenant. The HMMP defines how the obligations on the land will be delivered, by whom, where and when. Given the importance of this document, it is vital that each one is of an appropriate standard and contains all the information and plans needed before the Conservation Covenant is signed. In our role as a Responsible Body, we have observed a number of key areas where information in the HMMP is often missed or not sufficiently robust to pass through our due diligence process. As such, we have put together this useful guidance document to help you shape your HMMP to ensure that habitat banks deliver for biodiversity and landowner for the 30-year period.
